TMC has taken a firm stance against its rebel leader, Kunal Ghosh, issuing a show-cause notice demanding an explanation for his derogatory remarks against party MP Sudip Bandopadhya from the Kolkata (North) constituency.
Confirming the receipt of the show-cause letter, Kunal Ghosh stated his intent to respond after thoroughly reviewing its contents. He was informed of the notice on Monday while visiting the residence of Tapas Roy, a six-time party legislator who recently resigned from the West Bengal Assembly and Trinamool Congress.
Earlier, Kunal Ghosh tendered his resignation from the positions of party spokesman and state general secretary. While his resignation as spokesman was accepted, the party did not acknowledge his resignation from the role of state general secretary.
The issue arose on March 2 when Ghosh made a post on his official X handle, questioning the financing of Sudip Bandopadhya's hospitalization at Apollo, Bhubaneswar, following his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in January 2017 in connection with the multi-crore Rose Valley chit fund case.
In his post on X, Ghosh tagged the Directors of the ED and the CBI, stating, "If agencies try to avoid this, I should move a Ld Court praying for investigation into this matter."
